CHOOSING THE RIGHT CAR It's important to identify the autos that are "beepless" (according to B.T.S. standards). Basically this means any company that has NOT YET or will not implement a repetitive beeping seatbelt reminder in their cars or trucks and that only an "initial set of beeps" is sounded when a person turns on the ignition of their car getting ready to drive. B.T.S. agrees that such a reminder (just once at the beginning) is good, but that a continual set of beeps at a set interval can be distracting while driving. What you can do: We would like you to take responsibility when buying a new car. Ask the car salesman if it has a seatbelt reminder. You can find this out pretty quick by taking it for a test drive. If it does, find out if the fuse or spark plug responsible for the beep can be taken out, or at least deactivated.
